April in South Texas is a dynamic, exciting time. This is a fantastic sampler trip that includes south Texas specialties, migrant traps, a boat tour for Whooping Cranes, a day trip to renowned King Ranch, the Concan bat cave, and two nights in Hill Country (where we have never failed to see both Black-capped Vireo and Golden-cheeked Warbler!).
I will be offering a variety of day trips focused on warblers and shorebirds with a max group size of six participants on the following schedule: Port Huron State Game Area (May 5, 12, and 14) , Point Mouillee State Game Area (lots of walking) (May 8, 15) and Tawas Point (May 17, 18).
This late spring trip to the Cold Lake region of Alberta offers fabulous photo opportunities. Despite the western location, this region hosts over twenty breeding warblers including CONNECTICUT, CAPE MAY, CANADA, MOURNING, BLACKBURNIAN and BAY-BREASTED, and a huge variety of other rare songbirds like NELSON'S and LECONTE'S SPARROW in abundance.
Lynx. Grizzly Bear. Gray Wolf. Hawk Owl. Great Gray Owl. Boreal Owl. On this trip, it is unlikely you will see them all, but that is certainly a possibility! Indeed, all have been seen several times on past Yukon trips I have led! With the extension of the Dempster Highway to Tuktoyukatuk this itinerary has been extended to take us all the way to the ARCTIC OCEAN!
Australia truly is a naturalists dream destination. Where else can you see a Platypus, a Kangaroo, a bowerbird, or a Kookaburra? This is a world apart, with so many bizarre, unique and different birds and mammals. Our adventure will cover four of the best bird regions of the continent - with many spectacular possibilities! From Gouldian Finches to Cassowarys, and Echidnas to Wombats - this is AUSTRALIA!
